2011 VW Family Reunion
This year's event was again at the Dimond Center Mall parking lot near O'Brady's, between 10 am and 4 pm, and it was a lot of fun as usual with plenty of sweet rides and nice people.
A huge thanks to Dimond center for going way beyond our expectations with awards and providing a great spot to show all of our cars, and Morrison Auto group for awards.
As AACVW President, I’d like to make a special note of thanks and Appreciation to the following members who went the extra mile!
- John Adamson - who kept this show on track and pulled all the loose strings to make it a success
- Ted Beilman - helping register, print, and keep things going smooth throughout the day
- Nick Wallette - our sound and audio guy
- Greg ‘Doc’ Kalal - for showing his Beetle in the Dimond Center a week prior to the show
- Mike Brown - for showing his Manx in the Dimond Center a week prior to the show
- Pat Clark for updating the flyer and promoting
Also a huge thanks goes to those who showed up from AKEURO, and Alaska Chapter Porsche Club of America, and ALL those from Arctic Air-cooled VW’s and of course to all those enthusiast who came just to support the show!

- Peoples choice Best Audi - Andrew Metcalf with his 2003 Audi A4
- Peoples choice Best Porsche - Pat Haugh with his 1957 Beck Speedster
- Peoples choice Best VW - Jerry Ulmer with his 1963 Type 1 Beetle
- Furthest travelled - which I believe was A.A.C. VW’s Member Sam Taylor with his 1962 Single Cab Bus from Copper Center, Alaska.

Aussie in Alaska
The Volkswagen Club of Western Australia has run a nice article about Clayton (owned by Greg Wilkinson) in their May-June 2010 issue of Via West, and they put his smiling face (and classic Alaskan license plate) on the cover! Way to go Clayton, and congrats, Greg!

Mike Brown is organizing a new chapter of the AACVW...the AORVWs (Arctic Off-Road VWs) for all you off-road enthusiasts. The AORVWs will be planning off-road and camping trips throughout the summer...so watch for announcements.
