In the coming months\, we will prepare for our 21st Annual Volkswagen Family Reunion Car Show on Saturday\, June 20th from 10am-3pm at the Dimond Center Mall.\n\nThe Arctic Air-Cooled Volkswagens and Vanagons of Alaska are hosting the 3rd Annual Volkswagen Glampout in Eagle River\, Alaska this July 17th-19th. Everyone is welcome to stay one or both nights\, or even just come to make s’mores. (Campground fees have already been paid.) Whether you plan to roast hot dogs\, or call in a delivery pizza order\, glamp with fellow like-minded VW nuts. Bringing your tall stories\, RC cars\, and small VW projects are encouraged. DESCRIPTION:AACVW’s monthly membership meeting / cruise\nTuesday 21st\, 2026 starting @ 6pm\nMEET to Cruise @ The OLD Northway Mall (Click for directions)\nDEPART FOR PIZZA @630PM group cruise around town for Pizza @ Saverio’s Pizzeria to be followed up by Ice Cream (optional) at Wild Scoops Ice Cream Shop in the same shopping center! \nOn a side note\, camping was a HUGE success\, this weekend thanks goes wholly to Owen\, Annamaria\, and Teddy for making this one of the biggest camp outs yet! \nWe had many in attendance\, a couple baywindows\, a bunch of Vanagons of various types\, and models\, a couple diehard car campers too\, even including a BRAND NEW ID BUZZ\, and a few RV’s to boot – we even had a moose or 3 show up and hangout with the cool kids! \nOn a serious note\, thank you to everyone who made time to come hang out\, make s’mores\, and exchange campfire stories\, and help a member in need with their car. This is the stuff that makes a “good car club” into a GREAT one! \nEileen was over the moon doing a post online + shout out on social media recently thanking all of Arctic Air-cooled Volkswagens and Vanagons of Alaska members to help better Petunia and help get her back\, on the road including on some well needed newer rubber! \nThis was a nice little nudge for those who don’t know Eileen registered and manned the desk during our family reunion\, and helped keep the front of house in order! A huge thanks to Eileen for manning the table at the Family Reunion and helping make it a success that it was.. \nDo you have any ideas\, want to see something more? DESCRIPTION:This WEEKEND is the 48th Annual Jay Ofsthun Show ‘n Shine Car Show is going on! \nHistorically Alaska’s largest car show featured all makes\, all models\, from turn of the century to modern day marvels to RARE on off models no one knew existed. \nThis is an open event where clubs can show what we’re all about. \nAACVW’s game plan: \nWe’ll meet SUNDAY August 2nd at the Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park (West Chester Lagoon) EARLY @ 8am\, and then will roll in together leaving our premeet spot @ 830am and head up the hill to the park strip and claim our general area by the rose garden as a club\, if able please join us for this show throughout the day bring a chair a good conversation\, and a warm smile\, and if you’re able a cool car! \nThis is a first come first served event put on by Midnight Street Rod Association – And sponsored by many we know in our car community like;Antique Auto Mushers\,Northland Pumping\, Anchorage Midtown Rotary\, and many more! Everything from the cones\, garbage cans\, and porta potties and so much more are all a community effort to bring this show together so\, let’s show up and show off who we are\, what we do\, and show just a little bit of our crazy passion off.
